Old town flair

There is evidence of 10 breweries and around 30 inns in Kirchheimbolanden in the 18th and 19th centuries. Only very few have survived.

However, new ones were also opened in the 20th century. One example is the “Hofschänke”. Its ornate baroque ensemble on the southern section of the city wall provides a well-kept setting and is a reminder of the (service) nobility that lived here in the 18th century, which characterized a princely residence town.

The Middle Ages are also still present: the inner courtyard of the property borders directly on the city wall, which is designed here in two arches one above the other.
