Captivating, colorful, and full of imagination, we open the festival with Camille Saint-Saëns’ popular Carnival of the Animals. Actor Matthias Folz guides us through the concert with Jörg Hilbert’s witty verses. Together with the Young Festival Ensemble, we celebrate a vibrant animal world, made even more colorful by the creativity of regional primary schools.

A captivating dialogue between past and present: La Folia traces the Latin American origins of Chaconne and Folia – from elegant Baroque sounds and pulsating rhythms to the jazz grooves of the Latin fusion band Los Pipos.

During the intermission around 7:45 PM, you can expect Latin American delicacies.

With Alegría – joy of life, virtuosity, and lightness – we celebrate Mozart where he himself performed almost 250 years ago. The Chamber Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, led by Daniel Draganov, together with Selim Aykal (bassoon) and us on two pianos, conclude the Karolinenfest 2025 with masterpieces by Mozart:
