The long-lost German-Jewish Songbook of 1912 was the starting point for a competition whose winning compositions premiered at the 2025 Choir Festival in Nuremberg and have now been included in a new choral collection. The Donnersberg District Cantorate was selected by the German Choral Association along with other choirs and, with its financial support, is organizing a concert at St. Paul’s Church where some of these new songs will be presented. In addition to Jewish choral music, Sophia Stegner will perform music from the film “Schindler’s List” on the violin, among other pieces. Furthermore, space will be created for a regional culture of remembrance, and so the evening will also focus on Jewish life in Kirchheimbolanden. Admission is free – donations are welcome.
