SUMMARY:Dreams and Longing
DESCRIPTION:The long-lost German-Jewish Songbook of 1912 was the starting point for a competition whose winning compositions premiered at the 2025 Choir Festival in Nuremberg and have now been included in a new choral collection. The Donnersberg District Cantorate was selected by the German Choral Association along with other choirs and\, with its financial support\, is organizing a concert at St. Paul’s Church where some of these new songs will be presented. In addition to Jewish choral music\, Sophia Stegner will perform music from the film “Schindler’s List” on the violin\, among other pieces. Furthermore\, space will be created for a regional culture of remembrance\, and so the evening will also focus on Jewish life in Kirchheimbolanden. Admission is free – donations are welcome. \nDirection and Concept: Ulrike Heubeck

SUMMARY:ONE NIGHT ONLY - "Nimm 2"
DESCRIPTION:“Nimm 2” will perform one last time in the Kirchheimbolanden Castle Garden on May 23 as part of the city’s Cultural Summer. \nPeter Klein (piano) and Timo Holstein (vocals) will take the stage together for the last time on Saturday\, May 23. 15 years after SNAILSHOUSE called it quits and 7 years after the duo’s last concert\, Klein and Holstein will pick up their instruments together once more. As part of the Kirchheimbolanden Cultural Summer\, “Nimm 2” will perform on the stage of the baroque Castle Garden on May 23 starting at 7:30 PM with free admission. Over the years\, the two have performed a good 1\,500 concerts together. 20 years with the full band\, then as a duo. Since the mid-90s\, the cult band from the Palatinate has been an indispensable part of the music scene. The result was 3 albums and a DVD. Songs like “So wie der Wind” made it onto the radio; at the start of the millennium\, the band played nationwide and in neighboring countries\, sharing the stage with greats like Reamonn\, Fury in the Slaughterhouse\, H-Blockx\, Laith Al-Deen\, Revolverheld\, Silbermond\, and many others. Their greatest success was the album “Sternzeit” and the accompanying tour\, which drew around 30\,000 visitors within a few weeks in 2002. Also unforgettable are the band’s celebrated open-air concerts at the Waschmühle\, Gelterswoog (KL)\, or on the grounds of the former Bischoff Brewery in Winnweiler\, some of which attracted up to 10\,000 visitors. While SNAILSHOUSE showcased the musicians’ rock side\, Klein and Holstein later performed as a purely acoustic duo\, interpreting their favorite piano songs and evergreens by artists like Billy Joel\, Bill Withers\, Elton John\, John Denver\, and the Beatles\, as well as swing classics by Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.\, or gems by Roger Cicero. Anyone who wants to experience this one more time will have the chance on May 23\, when “Nimm 2” plays their final concert in the Kirchheimbolanden Castle Garden. Catering is well taken care of\, as the Schwan Winery will not only offer a wide selection of drinks but also fine snacks to go\, so you can eat and enjoy. The seating is a colorful mix—there will be beer garden sets\, chairs\, high tables\, and beach loungers. Guests are also welcome to bring their own picnic blankets and chairs. Food and drinks will be available from 6:30 PM\, and the concert starts at 7:30 PM – Admission is free! If it rains that evening\, even if it only becomes clear by noon on the day of the event\, the performance will move to the Stadthalle at the Orangerie. The concert will therefore take place regardless of the weather. \n
