In addition to a wine festival, the Residenzfest on the 2nd weekend in August, the Kleine Residenz Kirchheimbolanden has been organizing a “Kerchemer Bierwoche” every two years since 1986, which takes place on Corpus Christi weekend. The idea was born in the 1980s when the German Beer Purity Law of 1516 was under discussion due to the harmonization of European legislation. The “Kerchem Beer Week” was created to strengthen this purity law.
