Brazilian Journey

The program takes you on a journey through the city’s various districts, offering a cross-section of Brazilian literature and the rich diversity of Brazilian music. Texts by Jorge Amado, Jose Paulo Paes, and Geovani Martins are paired with the music of renowned Bossa Nova artist Antonio Carlos Jobim, Choro representatives Hermeto Pascoal and Sivuca, and the music of Egberto Gismonti. The vibrant sounds of Samba, Bossa Nova, and Choro are presented by Axel Grote (sax, flute), Sebastian Kling (piano), Florian Werther (bass), and Axel Pape (drums). Nathalie Hoyer sensitively and melodiously performs the texts and songs, in a program that truly captures the Brazilian spirit.
